Background to the Committee

The two partners, LIA and Printing Industries, have gained accreditation through Standards Australia to form the Australian based respondent body to ISO Technical Committee – 130 “Graphic Technology.”

The committee was established in May 2007 and has been meeting on a monthly basis for the past twelve months formulating strategies and refining technical points in order to find the best way of achieving its aim.

In pursuit of the committee’s aims we have drawn upon the expertise of industry practitioners and educators, as well as suppliers of products which enable the implementation of standards based printing.

All members of the Technical Committee (called the “AU/TC 130” or “TC 130” for short) have volunteered their knowledge freely because they hold the same vision for the printing industry in Australia: achieving and maintaining global quality standards.

To this end they have come together to promote industry awareness and understanding of what it means to print to ISO standards. The AU/ TC130 will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of international standards through comment and by voting on drafts and final drafts to applicable standards.

It should be clearly noted that the committee is a not-for-profit organisation, whose members freely give of their time. Any association with or perceived bias towards specific vendors of software, hardware and/or technical expertise is unintended and should not be interpreted as an endorsement or promotion of any product or service.

On this site you will find contributions from industry experts and suppliers of standards based technologies. This should not to be viewed as a promotion or endorsement of any specific product and/or service. The aim of this website is entirely educational to promote the benefits of standards based printing.
